Everyone is going on and on about the anniversary of the Sony Walkman and what it did to make music portable. It’s all over the BBC and blogs. Oh wow, it was so big, but so small. Yay for Sony.

I like music but most importantly – the walkman is the great-grandfather of portable porn. The idea that music could be made small enough to carry around started us on the road to mobile porn. For years cellphones have been able to hold porn videos. MP3 players could hold files and it took Apple’s iPod to really bring us an easy way to watch porn on the go. Or rather in the bathroom.
Sneaking a magazine into the bathroom (and out) was never easy. You’d roll it into your sock around your leg. Maybe inside your pants under your shirt. And then where the hell do you put it to enjoy it? It would slide off your thigh onto the floor. Not your phone. Phones stay put. They have sex videos with sound! Hells ya!
So forget about the walkman and what it did for music and show it some respect for bringing us the ultimate in joy – mobile pornography.
